NEVER GIVE UP
NEVERGIVEUP26 Foundation, Inc., is a Virginia non-profit corporation, dedicated to serving the communities across Northern Virginia. This corporation was formed in honor of Patrick Ryan Purcell (Packy), a hero among many men and women in the Northern Virginia area.
PACKY PURCELL
This foundation was created to educate and help the lives of people just like him and their families and friends. The purpose for which the corporation is formed is to assist in the support and development of the athletic programs at Oakton High School, a Virginia public high school, including supporting Oakton High School athletes academically in their pursuit of a post-high school education.
Also, NEVERGIVEUP26 Foundation will assist in the support of the athletes and athletic programs at Shenandoah University, in Winchester, Virginia, a Division III school that awards no athletic scholarships, including providing academic and financial support to deserving recipients as allowed by NCAA regulations. The corporation shall have the power to engage in all activities and exercise all powers not prohibited by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes and no part of its earnings shall inure to the benefit of any individual or entity.
All amounts expended shall be done in a manner to comply with VHSL and NCAA rules and regulations. At the same time providing support to the Oakton High School and Shenandoah University communities. As well as supporting these athletic and academic programs, NeverGiveUp26 Foundation will also be supporting the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center, specifically The Otto J. Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancers (Reuesh Center) with funds for their cancer research. Finally, the NEVERGIVEUP26 Foundation will support St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
In conjunction with providing support to these organizations to better the youth of the area, the corporation will also be raising awareness for Crohn's disease, colon cancer, and colostomies. It is the intention of this Corporation to educate and raise awareness to these issues so that the greater population has a better understanding and welcoming to them.
